Please Help Me

I am such an amateur at this whole blogging thing and need some help, ideas, tips etc.

because I was asked to teach a little 15 minute class on starting your own blog.

I will be researching stuff myself but if any of you have some suggestions, on anything

dealing with blogging, then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me your comments! It

has been over 4 years since I started... did I just say 4 years? I did! Wow! Time has

sure flown by. Anyway, as I said I'm very basic and haven't updated anything, too

much, on my blog, not even sure if I can as 4 years is probably 100 in technology years!.

That being said I am learning all the time about this way of contact and I realize

I have not given acknowledgment where it is due... So here are some great Blogs I have

enjoyed reading and have used their knowledge and information. Please check them

out!

I look forward to hearing from you!

I think the most important thing about blogging is writing what matters to YOU! Not what others are writing or what others will think. I often write like soeone is going to read it, but I never know how many people actually do. And I also write because its a fun place to journal about our life with us being so far away from family. Its fun for others to watch and read what my family is up to. Blogging can be about a certain topic, or an array of topics; but it needs to come from the heart. And really, if you wanted, you can totally make your blog completely private and no one but who you want can read it! I plan on getting a 'blog' book done to keep a hard copy of my adventures with my family, like a journal.

I agree with the previous comment. The best thing I did was get my blog into a hardcover book - www.blurb.com

It was easy and now I have a copy.

I use my blog as a journal/scrapbook. Way easier for me and way less time/expense and mess.

It's hard sometimes not to become caught up in how many people have commented - I have to remind myself it's not about them - I blog for me and my family. (comments are still really nice though ;)
