So in the past I've made goals for myself to loose weight or just become a healthier me. In the past I never really succeeded, maybe because I didn't feel accountable to anyone and I surely didn't get to a point where there was reward. 2 weeks ago my sis, Julie, brought me a flyer on the BENEFIT program.
It is a cancer research study done in Alberta, that is a 2 year study (if you qualify and want to last that long). It also mentioned that you would be reimbursed 70% of the funds to which ever, approved, organization you choose to join. I was curious so I went to their web page and took their survey to see if I qualified. I did. I was excited and nervous as 24 months can be a long time and because I was now accountable to someone other than myself.
Anyway, I signed up to do the study and then joined Weight Watchers. Weight Watchers and Tops were the only 2 weight loss programs you could choose to join in the Chinook Region.
So I joined WW on Sept 24th and got my BENEFIT package on the 25th and am now on my way to a healthier me.
In just a week I've lost 3 lbs, let me tell you though, getting on the scale the first time was embarrassing but getting on the next week was just nerve racking as I don't own a scale so I really wasn't sure if I lost, gained or stayed the same. Thankfully I was pleasantly surprised.
Now I'm watching what I eat and how much I eat and am making sure I get moving more. It's been so BEAUTIFUL out, how can I not get outside and enjoy it.
I'm not sure if the BENEFIT study has a deadline to join or if the Chinook Region in full but I would check it out if you are like me and need to be accountable to someone else to make things happen. Or if you really don't like spending that kind of $ on this sort of thing, because you can get 70% back.

lol... I love how you made certain comments smaller, like side notes. Too funny.
I hope this goes well for you (especially since you'll get 70% back ;))
