The "Hall's" Vacation

So I didn't mention it before, but we have been planning to drive to Disney Land with Kirk's family (his brother's fam, 2 out of 3 sisters fam's and parents) for about 3 months. The date of departure is January 2nd 2009, yup, today at 5:30 am we headed out hoping to get to Salt Lake, Utah by 7pm. By the time we drove 45 mins we had to pull over in Warner for 40 mins and then ventured out again on the snow-blowing-almost zero visibility-roads. We hit the Coutts border at about 7:45am and stopped at the pit stop for the first potty break (other than Nevee peeing at our Warner stop, we had her pee in a bucket in the van and then left the bucket outside). While at the border pit stop a couple of truckers told us we should wait until day light and that there was 6 vehicles in the ditch and the snow plows were even stopping because visibility was horrendous. However we decided (or should I say my father and brother in law decided) to just keep going. It was crazy and scary but we did make it to Shelby and pulled in to the gas station. While there we were told they closed the roads from the Border to Great Falls and that we should get a hotel room ASAP. So we did, the Shelby Comfort Inn is where we are safe and warm. They say the storm should lift at midnight so hopefully we will be able to head out in the morning to continue on our "Hall" Vacation. FYI Becka there is a gym here so here I come tredmill.

I hate yucky roads! We were thinking about you guys! My family got snowed-in in Shelby and had to stay at the same hotel! Hopefully the roads will get better for you guys! Have fun anyway!
